lyrics

I’ve been existing, perpetually resisting
running round in circles, not joining in the system
I've been needing some time, learning to fly
needing some perspective, awakening to what is mine
and I come to the conclusion, that it's all about return
we are nothing, we are everything, we know it all, and have much to learn

So don't close down, don’t seal your fate, don't play small,
You’ve got so much to create - hold onto the simple, hold onto the good, hold onto each other, hold on where you know you should

I saw this young boy, he was a deep soul, he was an old soul and a poet, he spoke of we and not of I, he grasped the stars and shot them straight into the sky, he spoke of life and love and freedom, in deep humility, connected with his wisdom, and let his words run free

So don't close down, don’t seal your fate, don't play small,
You’ve got so much to create - hold onto the simple, hold onto the good, hold onto each other, hold on where you know you should

There are time when I think that I can't escape the darkness
There are times when I'm standing right amongst the light and
There are times when I'm swinging crazily between them
There are times when I remember that I just don't need to fight

Imagine the roots below you, what's emerging now
bubbling up from the earth, like it's sacred somehow
let it rise and flow on through you and if you find it has a voice
let it come and sing it loudly
let it know you have the choice
sing unto the treetops, sing unto the hills
let it play and let it flower, let it move and then be still

And the roots of all the redwoods, the most ancient ones of all
they root so deep together, it's why they stand so tall

So don't close down, don’t seal your fate, don't play small,
You’ve got so much to create - hold onto the simple, hold onto the good, hold onto each other, hold on where you know you should

Hold onto the mystery, hold onto the source
Hold on while it's revealing, hold on to what is yours
I remember what you told me, I hold it close like truth
you said what you're looking for, is also looking for you
