You died at dawn when the city stilled calm after the storm It was so brutal and so cruel and yet so beautiful They said you waited for my voice so we dove into the night Just to whisper in your ear you can let go yes it’s all right And I don’t know if death is what it seems Or what it really means But I hope that you could hear us and I hope you went in peace And I’m so sorry that it’s done when you hadn’t long begun But I hope that you knew love yes I hope that you knew love On the first day of the year amongst the cold southern fells I heard you whisper in my ears amongst the wind I couldn’t tell Beneath the apricot skies as the sun began to rise And on the mountain that we climbed Oh I prayed with all my might And I don’t know if death is what it seems Or what it really means But I hope that you could feel us and I hope you went in peace And I’m so sorry that it’s done when you hadn’t long begun But I’m glad that you knew love Yes I’m glad that you knew love And your eyes all sunken in and your yellow paper skin I can barely take it in even now I can’t begin You died at dawn when the city stilled calm after the storm It was so beautiful and cruel and so damn brutal.

memories are not my friends and all the threads I couldn’t tend to now I’m wishing all the winds would blow them all away still attached to what was not and what was then I’ve not forgot the me back then I seem intent on holding on ’til detriment doubt in all decisions met and photographs still represent I cannot tell if I was there or was it all pretence so sad for all the things that past rose tinting what was made of glass and grieving that which didn’t last and wondering if I went too fast feel bruised and spewed out on the shore confused to how I came at all arrival on this fragile ground a body lies in sadness now images can’t comprehend who was she and what she meant make peace with what I couldn’t tend and all that’s left behind the sacrifices on the stage the people who have gone astray and what was lost and what was gained the ones who lost their lives upon the way and all the dusks and all the dawns the sun the moon the stars and all the waters and the oceans roar the rising tide the errand of a fool this voyage has no elegance but what I know I know at length a soul needs time to stop and rest and greeted now in holy reverence yes what I know I know at length I’m humbled by the hidden depths a soul needs time and much respect and on arrival met in reverence yes on arrival met in reverence

about

The album title is inspired by the poem 'Eurydice' by Edith Sitwell (1887-1964)

Why do they weep for those in the silent Tomb,
Dropping their tears like grain? Her heart, that honeycomb
Thick Darkness, like a bear devours... See, all the gold is gone!
The cell of the honeycomb is six-sided...
But there, in five cells of the senses,
Is stored all their gold... Where is it now?
Only the wind of the Tomb can know.
But I feared not that stilled and chilling breath
Among the dust... Love is not changed by Death,
And nothing is lost and all in the end is harvest.
